It was getting close to Christmas,
Her shopping was not done.
She look at me expectedly but settled on our so.
He thought of toys and jelly beans,
He stood up straight and tall
Until he heard her saying they were going to the mall.

Oh No! Not the mall
Shoot me and drag me down the hall
Take all my money, take anything at all
But please not the mall.

    Verse 2

As they headed to the door, my son began to smile.
"Why don't you and Daddy go, I know it's been awhile."
She dropped his arm, he ran away. He tried hard not to grin.
I understood completely. It was either me or him.

    Verse 3
She dragged me into Penney's. There were husbands everywhere.
Some were dressed in jammies, some in their underwear.
They all had been a cryin', their faces red as clay.
Their voices raised in protest still haunt me to this day.
